INTRODUCTION
Islam
emerged strong with the movement of prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Yathrib now called Medina but became
pronounce and spread to Asia axis , Europe and Africa after the death of the
Prophet Muhammad (S) and the emergence of the caliphate. The caliphs who took
over the helm of affairs work enormously to lay the structures of modern Islam
and also jealously guided the religion from cracking. The crack in it wheel of
progress came as a result of power struggle between the Ansari, Muhajirun, the
relatives of the prophets and the Ummayyad but these was amicable brought under
control through the wisdom and spiritual inclination of the caliphs.
The
Caliphs from Abu-Bakr Sadiq (632-634) to Ali bn Talib (656-661) rightly worked
with the Prophet from day one of his calling while the likes of Caliph Umar and
Uthman later joined the calling of one God. The calling came at a time where
360 gods was highly pronounced and worshipped in Mecca. Their fellowship and
work with the Prophet made them inclined to the call. This made them to know
the Nitti gritty of the faith. The guardian they received from the Prophet been
closest associate to him made them to be called the rightly guided. That is to
say, they have been guided by the teaching of the Prophet and the Holy Qur’an
without deviation.
However,
caliphate in Arabic khalifa is the state which is ruled by an Islamic leader
who is known as caliph. Caliph is a person who is considered as the religious
successor of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and the entire Muslim community. A Caliph
job was to provide Muslims with the most desired leadership according to the
commandment of Allah almighty and Prophets Muhammad. Those Caliphs who truly
followed the Prophets (PBUH) footsteps are called the rightly guided caliphs
Arabically, Alkhulata ur Rashidun. The first four caliphs are Abu-Bakr, Umar,
Uthman, and Ali. These four Caliphs lived simple and righteous lives and strove
hard for the religion of Allah (SWT).

It a really great work...
